International Women’s Day 2022
This week, we’re celebrating all the amazing women at krow and the contribution they make to our work and our team.
Through ongoing training, data-led decision making on rewards and recognition, flexibility in working patterns and enhanced family-friendly policies, we’re committed to making krow an accessible, fair and enriching place to work.
Here are a few of stories of success and inspiration from the women of krow.
Sushi – Senior Film Producer
Sushi started her career as a receptionist for an ad agency before being given an opportunity to join the TV team at the agency she worked for. Since then, she has been made redundant twice but found those times to be exciting rather than scary, viewing every set-back as a chance to grow.
At krow, she was the producer behind our #floattolive work for the RNLI. A campaign that literally saved lives by telling people what to do if they get into trouble in cold water.
Andrea – Creative
Andrea didn’t study advertising at university or go to portfolio school but after starting her career as a production assistant, she managed to transition into a creative role. Since then, she has gone on to win Cream, a Bronze DMA and a place on D&AD New Blood Academy.
Vicki – Deputy Managing Director
Work was her life before her twins arrived. After they were born, she didn’t know if she could return to the industry in a way that worked for her family and her clients. Not many agencies were open to part-time in a client-facing role but with the right support from the team and clients who recognised the value she could bring to their business even on a reduced week, Vicki triumphantly returned to krow in a part-time role as Business Director before being promoted to Deputy MD of the agency.
The moral of her story? Becoming a mum doesn’t have to hold you back from being successful in your career.
Kate – Senior Film Producer
One of Kate’s all-time favourite experiences in the industry came when she was involved in the delivery of a celebrated campaign developed and produced by an all-female team, from the director through to the editor, creative team, producer and account team. The women nailed it!
She also puts a lot of her ongoing success down to krow’s Head of Film who has had a huge positive impact on her working life since she became a mum and has been instrumental in finding ways to enable her to work part-time in a role which traditionally was very hard to deliver on a reduced week, and at a time when not many companies were open to it.
Vickie – Account Director
Vickie started her career in shopper marketing but quickly realised she wanted to work on bigger, more integrated campaigns. Despite her passion for this area of advertising, she struggled to find recruiters that would put her forward for the roles she really wanted. It took time, perseverance, and a strict rule that she wouldn’t settle for something that didn’t feel right before she found a position that was right for her.
She’s now working in a role where she gets to work on a great breadth of clients and channels where her creative and strategic thinking is welcomed.
